In the world of commercial hospitality, the line between functional and beautiful is often a rigid one. For 2026, Andy Thornton is stepping over that line with the introduction of the RE-AL collection by Colos.

Designed by Jun Yasumoto, the RE-AL 1 isn’t just another stacking chair; its subtle aesthetics can transform a sterile outdoor space into a premium guest experience.

Design That Feels Human

The inspiration behind the RE-AL range was born from a challenge: how to create the most economical aluminium chair possible without losing character. Yasumoto’s solution was a simple very slight, 1500mm curve on the seat and backrest. When viewed from the side, this curve gives the chair a fluid, relaxed silhouette that mimics a hand-drawn line.

In a modern new-build or a sleek terrace, these organic lines provide the high-end style Andy Thornton loves. It moves the guest experience away from the basic patio and toward a beautiful and functional outdoor room.
