Lu Ban Restaurant

An exciting redevelopment within a former brewery has created a unique and luxurious dining experience, complemented by bespoke furniture.

A multi-million-pound redevelopment of Cains Brewery Complex in Liverpool has created many new restaurant, bar and retail openings, including Lu Ban Restaurant. Lu Ban is a luxurious and unique dining experience, offering regional specialities of authentic Tianjin cuisine, which originates from China.

Designed by AJ&Co Interior Design, the new restaurant has different dining rooms as well as the main area, each offering a unique and exciting dining experience to remember.

The striking Private Wine Room features a stunning glass wall linking to the restaurant's cellar and is home to wine by some of the world’s best winemakers. Here we supplied a beautiful 4.5 metre bespoke table to seat 14, manufactured by our in-house metalwork teams to a pre-approved drawing by the client. The large hand-crafted table features a metal base with a smooth solid oak top and is teamed with Drake armchairs in an antique brown leather.

To complete the look, we supplied a mixture of lighting pendants made of tactile wood in various shapes, which hang over the table and add to the intimate feel of this atmospheric room.

For an intimate dining experience, Lu Ban offers the luxurious Tianjin Banquet Room, seating up to 12 guests. Here we supplied 12 of our comfortable fully upholstered Flint armchairs, the frames stained in a dark finish to match the cosy interior scheme. Our Remo 13-light cluster pendant in clear cut glass provides a dramatic focal point above the round table.

Another private area is provided by The Food Lab, an informal room where up to 12 guests can enjoy an immersive dining experience. Here we supplied bespoke bar stools with the frames finished in black, upholstered in a high-quality, vintage-look faux leather in a dark grey. Industrial pendants in grey hang above the long table in The Food Lab, adding an industrial twist to the minimalist-style room.

The Chef’s Table creates a fourth exclusive dining option; here you can view the kitchen brigade close-up and become immersed in the Lu Ban cooking experience. To furnish this area, we supplied six of our popular Repton bar stools, upholstered in a rich brown durable faux leather.

In the bar area, a striking six-metre bar fronted in slate and copper, is complemented by our Sinatra bar stools, with classic brass detailing on the legs and footrest. Hillcrest pendants in an imperial bronze finish hang above the full length of the bar, casting light and shadow in the atmospheric room.

The main seating area is spacious and stylish, with the lighting housed in huge copper pan lids. We supplied here bespoke side chairs upholstered in a mix of muted grey tones, all in a durable faux leather. These are teamed with bespoke tables again supplied by us, with a central metal base and solid character oak tops, which add warmth and texture to the space.
