£1.5M NEW VENUE
Leila Lily’s, a new £1.5m bar, restaurant and nightclub venue by property developers The Malhotra Group, has opened on Grey Street, Newcastle, in the historic heart of the city.
This ambitious project is a very personal one to Operations Director Atul Malhotra, who has named it after his two-year-old daughter Leila Lily. Following three years of meticulous planning, Atul was involved in every detail of the new venue, where the crockery, artwork and even the wallpaper has been personally designed for the project. The personal touch continues with the use of high-quality, bespoke furniture, with the project’s interior designers BXB Interiors specifying bespoke furniture from Andy Thornton Ltd.
The designers provided a very detailed spec of the exact look, finishes and fabrics they required and we recommended a selection of suitable products from our extensive collections. The look was to be colourful, floral and “Instagrammable,” and had to be completed within a tight timeframe. Having worked closely with us on previous projects, Newcastle-based BXB knew we could supply everything they required.
BESPOKE BRASS BAR STOOLS
Our in-house metalwork team created bespoke brass-framed bar stools from images provided by BXB. From these, we provided working drawings of the stool for approval, then manufactured custom-made seats to fit the frame. To continue the on-trend maximalist look, the stools were upholstered in a selection of contract-quality fabrics, from candy pink velvet to stunning, botanical-inspired prints.
BESPOKE HEIGHT BAR STOOLS
Andy Thornton also supplied the same brass-framed bar stools at a reduced height, to fit around a huge bespoke-height black marble dining table. The stools were upholstered again in a mix of fabrics in different colours, textures and patterns.
QUIRKY BESPOKE SOFA
Our best-selling button-backed Repton armchairs and bar stools were also specified by the designers, upholstered in an extremely hard-wearing black faux leather, with shaped stools to match and a bespoke brass ring added around the bottom.
The finishing touch in the opulent venue is provided by a bespoke Andy Thornton high-backed two-seater sofa, a quirky style manufactured with a high button back, traditional wooden legs and brass studded detail around the arms. The sofa is upholstered in flame-retardant lustrous velvet in a deep emerald, with the seat and back in a complementary botanical print.
