Gandys is a unique lifestyle brand selling thoughtfully designed fashion, accessories and luggage to travellers all over the world. The brand was created by brothers Rob and Paul Forkan, who were tragically left orphaned after their parents died in the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004. The family had been travelling the world on the trip of a lifetime.
Rob and Paul were determined to create something unique in memory of their adventurous parents, and Gandys was born out of this determination. Always working to the principle of giving back, 10% of the fashion brand’s profits goes to the Gandys foundation, which supports their Orphans for Orphans initiative.
The Gandys flagship store opened in 2017 in the iconic location of Covent Garden. Amongst the travelling memorabilia of maps, photographs and ceiling lights disguised as world globes, the store is packed full of clothes, backpacks and accessories. Most of the key retail display pieces were sourced from the Andy Thornton retail display collections.
A conical low display table serves as the ideal display spot for jeans, jumpers and sweats. Clothes, travel accessories and flip-flops are displayed throughout the store on industrial-style shelf units, school-style benches and simple garment rails, crafted from a mixture of steel and wood in an antique painted finish. A large black Cheval arched mirror provides a great view for customers in the store’s dressing room, adding an industrial touch to the compact space.
Industrial shelf units in distressed dark metal, display tables and garment rails are placed carefully around the busy store to showcase the Gandys range of products. Piles of battered vintage suitcases complementing the look are scattered throughout the store, in a further homage to the global theme.
The Forkan brothers have created a leading fashion destination for travellers; a place to source everything they need, for a trip they’ll never forget.
