Matt was really on the ball, and with a pandemic in full swing, managed to deliver on our needs, despite our last-minute changes. When you are full on with a refurbishment this reliability means everything. We ended up buying more chairs from Andy Thornton because they simply made the process so easy. They were always professional and proactive to deliver on our needs. The quality of the product is holding up well in a very busy café environment. They were genuinely one of the best companies we dealt with during our extensive refurbishment works. - Ross McGregor, Director of Operations

An inviting garden cafe with unique interior touches

Archerfield is a beautiful 18th Century walled garden with a cafe that provides simple seasonal family-friendly food. Many ingredients are sourced from their own garden to reduce food miles and provide the freshest produce possible.

When refurbishing, the team wanted to create an inviting garden café with some unique interior touches that continued the homegrown ethos. Director of Operations Ross McGregor explains:

"To create our new look garden café, we found Andy Thornton had the style we needed to dress the areas. We initially set out to buy tables and chairs but discovered the range was far-reaching with some really unique pieces, like garden rake coat hangers and old buckets. These select pieces have made the difference in creating a space unique to our café concept."

Marble-look without the acid etching

As well as several solid oak table tops with a clear lacquer finish, the designers opted for Versital Table Tops in Sicilian Marble finish with rounded edges.

Versital is a realistic faux marble material and a fantastic alternative to a real Carrara marble. It's stain proof and waterproof so it's perfect for high traffic hospitality use as it has none of the acid etching issues that can occur from wine spills, vinegar staining or hot metal tea pots on natural marble.

Single supplier savings unlock the Nolita's superior style

Initially, Archerfield had specified the cheaper, polypropylene Dome stacking chair so they could stay within budget. With a little Andy Thornton magic, we were able to help them achieve much more.

Because they were able to source more items directly from us, we were able to make savings elsewhere on the quote. They also cut costs by preventing multiple delivery charges from different suppliers. With these savings combined, their outdoor chair of choice was within budget. The Nolita's steel lines in powder-coated orange make a definitive difference in the outside space alongside the hardwearing Robinia tops paired with sturdy Continental bases.
