Fund for Cape May
The stunning new Victorian-style bandstand was commissioned by a support group called the Fund for Cape May, to be a key element of a $1.8 million renovation project at Rotary Park, in Cape May, a city of national historic interest in New Jersey, USA.
PRIME QUALITY STRUCTURAL STEEL
The bandstand is fabricated in prime quality structural steel and features cast aluminium pedestals and capitals with a structural steel core to create the support columns, complemented by bespoke ornate spandrels and frieze panels and brackets to hold the ogee profile guttering to the perimeter of the roofline. The specification includes an internal ceiling boarded in lacquered tongue and groove hardwood, an electrical feed incorporated into one of the columns and integrated rainwater discharge down two columns to the underground drainage system.
TWO TIER ROOF SECTION
The elaborate concave and convex two tier roof section incorporates a single skin aluminium sheet fixed to a steel skeleton framework, separated by laser cut frieze panels with spear points and completed with a finial weather vane.
