Sticky Fingers is a recently completed restaurant for Hyatt Regency, located on the Cologne-Deutz Rhine bank in Cologne. Boasting incredible views, this luxury hotel is minutes from the Rheinboulevard riverwalk and the Opera House.
Design Command, the interior designers on the restaurant project, specified contract furniture by Andy Thornton to successfully create the raw, urban-industrial look, which mirrors the low-key atmosphere and delicious, freshly cooked street food, made to be eaten with your hands. To achieve the precise look Design Command wanted, we provided products from our best-selling vintage-style range, as well as bespoke items manufactured to the designer’s exact specification.
A large bespoke feature table, in an industrial mix of blackened steel and reclaimed scaffold planks, creates an attractive display area for plants in terracotta pots, as well as a unique spot for casual eating and drinking. Trieste bar stools with upholstered leather seats and steel frames match the table perfectly, against the backdrop of the stunning cathedral.
Cruciform four-leg poseur table bases in cast iron with bespoke scaffold plank tops create durable and practical tables in a rustic-style. Our best-selling School bar stools with vintage leather seat and back provide ample seating to match.
To make the most of the spectacular views, a run of refectory tables and benches sit alongside the huge floor-to-ceiling windows. Created by Andy Thornton especially for the project, the simple benches are crafted from durable tulip wood, with the frames in blackened steel. They can be neatly tucked away under the substantial tables when not in use, to maximise the feel of light and space which pervades the entire restaurant.
