Sebastian’s Italian is a new restaurant just opened in King Street, Richmond, offering authentic Italian cuisine using the finest and freshest ingredients, with experienced chefs and cooks and two wood-fired pizza ovens. It is a family run business that first opened in Windsor in 2013. Due to the success and overwhelming support received, they have now opened this, their second restaurant.
In the main restaurant area, with its rich oak parquet flooring and stone-faced dado wall panelling, Andy Thornton provided their popular Dixie dining chairs set around Bistro tables and facing the fixed banquet seating. The chairs are upholstered in a mixture of moss, beige and bourbon-coloured contract quality leathers. Tall poseur tables with Dixie bar stools have been used down the side of one of the pizza ovens and by a corner feature window, to provide mixed-height seating options for diners.
The unusual stone-clad bar counter provides a stunning backdrop for a line of Andy Thornton Dixie bar stools, to create a useful pre-dinner drinking area for diners waiting to be shown to their table.
In a separate dining area facing the open-plan kitchen and down the long link area towards a conservatory, Dixie side chairs are paired with black bistro tables down one side, whilst Dixie armchairs face the long run of banquette seating. The conservatory itself, with its full-height hardwood windows and doors and continental-style terracotta floor tiles, provides valuable additional covers for 16 diners.
At the rear of Sebastian’s is a useful terrace area, which will surely draw in the crowds in summer. Here Andy Thornton supplied Bistro tables with teak tops, facing the timber bench seating, plus the lightweight Karin armchair in anthracite powder-coated aluminium frame, with synthetic rope back and quick-dry PVC seat cushions.
