A stunning new luxury Turkish restaurant has just opened on Deansgate, Manchester. Kai has been set up by the team behind successful Indian restaurant, Zouk Tea Bar & Grill.
The owner Tayub Amjad visited Istanbul and on returning was so inspired by the food and culture, he set about bringing the dining concept to Manchester. Istanbul café tradition comes together with traditional culinary methods, to create food to be enjoyed and shared between friends and family.
Kai’s eye-catching interior is complemented by contract furniture by Andy Thornton. In the restaurant’s center, colourful flowers are festooned across the ceiling, creating a feeling reminiscent of the outdoors and contrasting with the dramatic, dark colours of the restaurant.
Here Andy Thornton contract furniture provides maximum impact, with our best-selling Repton armchairs fully upholstered in a rich blue Panaz navy, with the durable beech frames stained a complementary dark wenge. The armchairs were given a further luxurious twist with the button backs upholstered in a velvet-like, durable nubuck by Sunbury.
The bar area, at the front of the restaurant, features Andy Thornton Repton bar stools, again upholstered in a classic rich navy, and teamed with our Quadra rectangular drinkstand table bases. For the drinkstand table tops, we supplied bespoke tops in solid oak, with a dark wenge stain.
The new restaurant, with a capacity of 140, has already had a soft launch, but opens officially on 17 January 2019.
