West Vale, Halifax
CRAFT West Vale has just opened in the increasingly popular village of West Vale, near Halifax, offering live music, live football and so much more. It has been developed by Scott and Paul Carroll and Dr Graham Walsh, the team behind the hugely successful local restaurants, Café Thai and Café Italia.
Designer Vanessa Thornton specified all the furniture for the venue from contract furniture specialists Andy Thornton Ltd, whose iconic showroom just happens to be literally across the road from CRAFT.
Andy Thornton supplied the fluted-back banquette seating for the main lounge area. This is complemented by circular cocktail tables in a satin brass finish, with marble laminate tops and tube stools. Repton side chairs with sumptuous deep button backs complete the luxurious look.
All the fixed seating and loose furniture has been upholstered in blue and beige faux leathers by Sunbury, which gives an elegant and refined look, replicating the feel and patina of classic waxed leather.
The ground floor bar, which serves a selection of fine beers from around the world, features an impressive bespoke bar counter manufactured and installed by Andy Thornton craftsmen. It has been constructed using solid sawn timber planks to create a rustic ale-bar feel.
In the upstairs lounge, we manufactured a timber screen, the mirrored panels creating an illusion of more space. We provided more of the upholstered armchairs and bar stools, together with a three-seater beige faux leather Chesterfield and decorative wall lights.
Finally, in the cosy basement Rum & Gin Bar, we supplied the metal-clad bar counter, and all the bar furniture.
Commented Scott Carroll: “We are delighted with how our new CRAFT bar has turned out, it’s a perfect addition to our family of bars and restaurants in this ever-popular Calderdale village."
