Nestled on the beautiful tree-lined Foley Street in central London, Work.Life Fitzrovia is the company’s most recently opened creative workspace in the capital, handy for the West End yet close to the hustle and bustle of the East. With Regent's Park around the corner and Soho on the doorstep, there’s always something to do in the lunch hour.
When you step inside the character doesn’t stop, with exposed brick offices and high ceilings. Work.Life Fitzrovia provides private offices, co-working hot desks, meeting rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, event space, bike storage, showers and regular social events.
Andy Thornton was commissioned by furniture consultants Platfform to provide three bespoke hot-desking tables for the open-plan co-working area. The substantial tables are 2.7 metres in length and have been manufactured using standard scaffold-like clamp components for the table base frame, finished in gun-metal grey. These versatile pieces of furniture feature heavy duty braked swivel castors so they can easily be manoeuvred, plus a unique rack-and-pinion tilt mechanism for easier room access and storage.
The chunky 32 mm thick table tops are in solid character oak to complete that industrial feel and polished in a high-spec matt satin. Each table comes complete with 2 x 2 gang switch sockets incorporating USB chargers.
