Ditton Park, Datchet, Berkshire
Set in 200 acres of parkland with its own moated Manor House, Ditton Park is home to the UK and Ireland’s US headquartered international software business CA Technologies. The offices in Ditton Park have always been a great place to work, but a recent redesign and renovation has created a stunning working environment that has added to the already fantastic location.
The brief from the senior leadership team was simple; they wanted to bring the spaces to life through a radical change, by providing collaboration space, focus areas, spaces for chilling out and areas to have those confidential or crucial conversations, that all contribute to creating an agile working environment for CA employees.
The result is a totally new feel, with stunning designs for break-out areas, team rooms and themed meeting rooms for internal staff, as well as customer-facing meeting rooms which have their own unique design. There are also what they call connecting spaces, where you can grab a coffee, catch up with colleagues or just chill out.
A key feature is the tube meeting room, with its mock London tube carriage. Around this, Andy Thornton provided the heavy duty girder-style tables and benches, with solid ash tops. To the front by the white-tiled wall, we provided Feltham bar stools to the tall rectangular poseur tables outside the mock tube station.
Another stand-out feature, with its eye-catching canary yellow livery, is the shipping container, which houses a fully fitted kitchen. Our popular Feltham bar stool in cast iron with green leather seats front the high-level poseur counter. In front of this, we provided the timber dining tables with leather chairs.
Outside the beach hut meeting room, we supplied full-height poseur tables where employees can work standing up or sit on the Factory bar stools. Square Patina Teak tables are matched with leather-upholstered Healey chairs. Inside the beach hut, our contemporary Varese lounge furniture helps create another informal meeting room.
In the fully glazed informal meeting rooms, iconic hand-made leather Chesterfields from Andy Thornton add a touch of luxury, complementing the rest of the lounge furniture.
In the open-plan warehouse area, Andy Thornton lounge furniture has been used extensively. Leather Chesterfields and button-back Burleigh wing chairs, in mustard, sage and burgundy leathers, dominate this area to create a large informal lounge. Small recesses with more leather Burleigh wing chairs provide intimate areas for private conversation.
