Exterior canopy at the Bristol Trader

The owners of the Bristol Trader, one of the oldest pubs in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, are delighted with their stunning new exterior canopy provided by Yorkshire-based Andy Thornton Ltd.  Finished in an attractive grey colour to contrast with the pastel yellow of the Grade II listed building, the canopy provides all-weather cover for drinkers and diners enjoying the riverside views.

It was essential that the canopy was in keeping with the original style of the historic building, one of the most famous landmark pubs in the county. Andy Thornton’s skilled architectural metalwork department has years of experience working with old and listed buildings and the team were delighted to rise to the challenge, to manufacture and install the 50m² canopy.

Andy Thornton worked with Ian Bartlett, local architect, on the actual design of the Arts & Crafts style canopy. Constructed via a steel skeleton, the canopy uses Andy Thornton’s most popular colonnade system, the circle colonnade.
