Sienna Court - Rennaissance Living

Renaissance Living is a new concept in 21st century living for the independent retired community. The rise of the so-called ‘grey army’ is unprecedented, with large numbers of healthy and active over-55s demanding luxury retirement accommodation offering independence, flexibility and a safe, secure living environment.

Interior fit-out specialists Andy Thornton Ltd were appointed by main contractors Wiggett Construction to provide an entire fit-out for the communal areas at the new £10m Renaissance Living development Sienna Court, at Chadderton near Oldham. Andy Thornton provided classic, stylish and comfortable fixtures, fittings and furniture for all the communal areas, which were specifically designed for the over-55s.

The traditional and cosy library was completely furnished and decorated by Andy Thornton, creating the entire room from an empty shell. Bespoke carved bookcases in deep mahogany were installed either side of the attractive cast iron fireplace. High-backed traditional armchairs and bespoke armchairs covered in richly coloured striped fabric sit by the fire to give residents a welcoming place to read, chat or simply relax. The Café Lighting range of wall lights and five-arm pendants in polished brass were used to great effect throughout the library and also the vibrant bar and bistro area. Soft carpets and matching curtains complete the look.
