Outdoor canopy

Andy Thornton’s architectural metalwork department recently installed this attractive outdoor canopy at the Brampton Halt, an idyllic country pub located in the quaint village of Chapel Brampton near Northampton.

McManus Pub Company wanted to maximise the use of the pub’s outdoor area, with a shelter in keeping with the look of the original red brick building. Working alongside Stone-Me Design on the design, Andy Thornton fabricated and installed the aesthetic and practical canopy, which blends in perfectly with the historic beauty of the old stationmaster’s house.

Andy Thornton’s standard Circle Colonnade system was used, finished in durable polyester powder-coat finish in classic black. The shelter is steel, with the decorative elements made from aluminium.

Thornton also manufactured and installed the partially glazed side panels, with laser cut Brampton Halt logos in the style of traditional railway station signs. In keeping with the design, the skilled Andy Thornton team manufactured a hipped roof for the shelter, more complex in construction than a standard roof, but adding an attractive finishing touch.

Andy Thornton’s architectural metalwork department manufactures high quality architectural structures, both interior and exterior, including bandstands and gazebos, smoking shelters, balustrades and staircases.
