Andy Thornton wood balustrading components are superior quality items, aimed at the discerning professional within the commercial market. We offer a comprehensive range of wood balusters, newels, handrails and fittings.

All items are made in our workshops from Mahogany or a similar red hardwood or Pine. All components are supplied sanded ready for polishing or, at extra cost, can be supplied polished to match the colour chart at the back of the catalogue or to match customers samples.

Balustrade components are split into three ranges: Standard, Heavy and Extra heavy. All of our wood balusters are designed to withstand 0.75kN point load. We run a ratified test programme for all our barrier components and can supply a certificate for any relevant item. Newels are of one piece construction for extra strength. The strength of a newel and of the handrail determines the spacing of the newel posts. All of our newels are designed to support a generous length of handrail and advice on newel spacing is available on request. We make ramps and wreaths to order.
