An English bust in aged marble composition on fluted column is of Laocoon the High Priest of Troy who warned the Trojans in the Aeneid - "beware of Greeks bearing gifts".
This bust has been inspired by a sculpture in the Vatican Museum Rome - depicting Laocoon being strangled by a sea-serpent sent by Poseidon.
