The Bear's Paw
Location: Warmingham, Cheshire
Client: Nelson Northwest
Designer: Douglas Wallace
Situated in the heart of Cheshire, this 19th century hotel features an impressive restaurant, bar and lounge along with luxurious boutique-style bedrooms. The client’s brief was that the interior fixtures had to look as though they had always been there, so antiques were combined with new bespoke joinery to bring the interior design together. Diners in the 130-cover restaurant are surrounded by reclaimed panelling, seasoned oak flooring made from French railway sleepers, fitted bookcases and ornate fireplaces. The oak wall panelling features intricate egg and dart moulding and the fireplace incorporates barley twist columns, creating an impressive centrepiece in the lounge area.
The main bar features two open fires with decorative surrounds, reclaimed antique oak flooring and more than 200 pictures adorning the oak panelled walls.
