Andy Thornton has helped to breathe new life back into the Grade II listed Stancliffe Hall in Darley Dale, near Matlock. Nestled in over 50 acres of stunning parkland in the heart of the Peak District, the hall provides a truly unique and exclusive venue for corporate events and private parties.
The recent redevelopment of this historic manor house, with some parts dating back to the 15th century, has created a hospitality suite consisting of meeting rooms, conference facilities, bar, billiard room and self-catering apartments.
Working to concept designs by the interior designer Oliver Redfern, we were commissioned to manufacture and install the Billiard Room bar, which features a bar counter panelled in American black walnut with embossed leather inset tiles and granite worktop. The back bar in veneered walnut features glazed cupboards with adjustable shelving, plus granite work surfaces and splash back. Display lighting has been incorporated in both units, highlighting the patterns on the leather tiles and the selection of wines, spirits and liqueurs on show in the cabinets.
We also supplied and fitted full height timber wall panelling In the Billiard Room, evoking the grandeur of Stancliffe’s past life as a Victorian country mansion.
Other work carried out by our interior fit-out team includes the installation of a solid oak coffee/juice bar servery unit featuring Corian worktop and a matching island unit in the Whitworth Room and the supply of cloakroom cupboards and six bespoke vanity units for the rest rooms.
