Andy Thornton Ltd has completed the design, manufacture and installation of a bespoke wedding gazebo at Quex Park, Kent, in just five weeks.
Quex Park is a unique 250-acre country park located on the Isle of Thanet and set within a large estate around Birchington, Acol and Richborough. An oasis of parkland and 200-year-old trees, the park is a haven for birdlife and boasts magnificent architecture, comprising Quex House, built in 1805, and Waterloo Tower, a bell tower dating back to 1819.
Quex House itself enjoys extensive gardens, in which the stunning new wedding gazebo now resides. The elegant Victorian-style gazebo looks perfectly at home among the 15-acres of lawns, herbaceous borders, exotic trees ponds, statues and woodland.
Andy Thornton’s skilled Architectural Metalwork Department completed the project in just five weeks after being approached by the client in May. The tight deadline was required as a wedding ceremony using the structure had been booked in for the start of July.
We worked with the client to create a design to fit their specifications and budget and despite the tight turnaround, the end result is a beautiful, unique and ornate gazebo, complete with period frieze, spandrels and columns.
The client is very happy with the gazebo and the positive feedback it has generated from customers. It has already been showcased at a wedding fayre held at Quex Park and acted as the venue for a full ceremony. The sheltered structure has proved so popular, that four more weddings have been booked in for this summer.
While gazebos and pergolas are ideal for romantic, intimate and picturesque wedding ceremonies, they also act as a spectacular decorative feature in gardens or parks.
Andy Thornton specialises in bespoke wedding gazebos and other decorative structures, such as entrance canopies, covered walkways and conservatories. All external structures are constructed to withstand harsh environmental conditions.
